Full Description
Lagerstroemia indica is a medium sized bushy tree or shrub with bright flowers blooming throughout the summer, making it a common ornamental plant.
Crape myrtle bark is gray or tan and peels off occasionally, keeping the tree smooth even as it ages. Leaves are arranged alternatly along twigs. The fruit is a spherical capsule that splits open to drop its papery seeds.
Take note that it is a vigorous, suckering plant, making it easy to grow, but hard to eradicate. It is also susceptible to powdery mildew.
