Ligustrum sinense (Chinese Privet)

Description

Ligustrum sinense is a suckering bush or small tree that is expanding its range across the United States of America. It has many tiny, simple, untoothed leaves with smooth margins. The twigs are hairy with bright lenticels. The branches are tan or gray and fairly smooth. Chinese privets have few pests because there were no privets in the United States before the introduction of privets to garden landscapes.
